Sampling plans
A plan per spec family states the required sample size, runs a variance check and sets a re-measure trigger when measured weights drift.
Estimates
An estimate can come from measured siblings, supplier specs or declared values.
Data-quality tiers
- Measured: you weighed it.
- Supplier: a supplier declared it and you confirmed it.
- Estimated: computed from measured siblings.
- Declared: you entered it without a measurement.

Every figure in a report carries its tier, and the methodology document explains how each tier was produced.
